![]() ![]() In order to be a dark wizard, one needs to know the dark arts, obviously, and to be strong enough to perform the dark arts.Īfter that, I think the last point that makes someone a dark wizard is their overall reliance on the dark arts. Then it comes their knowledge of the dark arts themselves, or at least their capacity to understand and use the dark arts. So, (and this is just my opinion on the matter and by no means a confirmed stance), I think that what makes someone a dark wizard is based on several factors.Īt first is their attraction to the dark magics, the willingness to do harm, the pleasure they gleam from another's pain, etc, and I really think this is the main selling point on what makes someone a dark wizard or not. We also know that in times of war, Aurors are allowed to use the Unforgivable Curses on the enemy, and by the wars end, these special allowances are revoked and the aurors don't seem to be too upset about it. In order to be effective, curse-breakers and Aurors need to have knowledge of the dark arts to be able to defeat them. Sorry for the incoming dissertation □□□ This is just a topic I find endlessly fascinating.
